End of a disappointing season, Chelsea experimented with youth, letting 5 senior players leave, Ballack, Deco, Carvello, Joe Cole and Belletti. The Youth came in and well it’s just to big of a jump in class from youth/reserve players to the premier league. Burma, Kattuta, Van Arnholt and the others were put out on loan at Christmas, and Torres and David Luiz came in.
Sturridge went on loan to bolton and didn’t stop scoring. I would expect to see him back next season, with Torres. Drogba has probably got another season left. But for me it’s time to look to the future, he’s just about been our best striker ever, but I think it’s time to get brutal and move him on. It’s the African Nations again next season, and you really don’t need half your team going missing for a month, Mikel, Kalou and even Essian can go as well. Essian has done enough over the years, but he really hasn’t looked like the player he used to be.
There’s a few “sunshine players”, who need to be moved Malouda the biggest culprit, plays well in the sunshine months but goes missing in the winter.
It’s been a poor league this year, the fact that Chelsea were so far behind and still ended up with a shot and the league. United aren’t a great team. They do have a great manager, who a nursed them through, with a mix a youth and ageing players, Ferguson has got every inch out of them. If it wasn’t for Hernandez, buy of the season then they would have struggled further.
Everyone needs to buy next year. City will be at it now they have Champions league football, they will also need to move players on, but that will be tricky if they have to take a big pay cut. I would expect Chelsea to go again, and even Arsenal (who might end up in 4th) might have a go, if United don’t buy they will fall behind.
So well done to United, I just wish I didn’t have to put up with their, pot hunting so-called supporters, yes it easy to support the biggest club, even if you’ve never set foot in Manchester, the question is who are you going to support next week. Real football is about supporting your local side, even if they are shit. Not some northern pidgin eating side. Unless of course you’re a northern pidgin eater.
